Intent to Run as a Candidate

Members wishing to run for a position on the CSN Executive Committee should make their intentions known now. Please submit the required information, as outlined in the instructions. The form, which may be found below, must be sent to the election president and secretary.

Under Article 103 of the CSN Rules of Order, all nominations must be made at the Convention, whether or not the candidate has already announced their intention to stand for election.

Since the CSN will be circulating information about all the candidates, we ask that information resources and social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) operated by the CSN and its affiliated organizations not be used for election campaign purposes.

Election President and Secretary

In accordance with article 102.1 of the Rules of Order, the Confederal Council has chosen an election president and secretary at its March 2023 meeting.

Long-time activists Jeff Begley and Denise Boucher have generously agreed to come out of retirement to help oversee the democratic process that our movement holds so dear. They will see to it that the election rules, as stipulated in Article 30 of the CSN Constitution and By-laws, and Chapter X of the CSN Rules of Order, are followed.U

Candidate Town Hall

There will be no questions from the floor at the candidate town hall. Questions should be emailed to the election president and secretary prior to the meeting. They will compile the questions and prepare the meeting together with the moderator. The deadline for submitting questions is May 12, 2023.
